Birmingham Exchange Buildings

A planned project that would see the tragic demolition of the Birmingham Exchange building that dated back to 1865.  It was envisaged as part of the New Street Station redevelopment (see 100) and would later link up to the Birmingham Shopping Centre that would be constructed over the station.  A bland office block and a concrete ramp, whose main feature in 2014 seemed to be McDonalds, replaced a fine example of Victorian gothic architecture.  The office block had been converted to a Premier Inn by 2014.
