Brickyard
Crossing lay on the Camp Hill line between Saltley
and St. Andrews junction. The
crossing provided access to (not surprisingly...) some
brickworks! In 1901 there had been Garrison Farm Brick Works and
Britannia Brick Works close to this site.
The view is looking north towards Saltley. The canal passing from
bottom left to mid-right was the Birmingham and Warwick Junction
canal. The rail line passing left to right is the LNWR line from
Birmingham to Rugby. The sign on the factory beyond the line
says, "GEC Domestic Electric".
